The alpha female

e Excellent Effective
Committed to "Be All She Can Be"

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act
rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do.

Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
Aristotle

Excellence
Productivity at the highest level possible
while still achieving life balance

Third, you must have demonstrated the ability to balance your life, to be all that you can be--while doing all that you can do, for yourself and for others, in order to lead, in order to be the true Alpha female. Excellence grows out of our talents, experience, abilities, aptitudes, education, and traits. These gifts shape how we can uniquely contribute to the world; our family systems, friends. colleagues, community, country, world view.

Many books that discuss excellence in women suggest that if we want success, we must be willing to sacrifice pretty much everything else--our partner, our children, our fun and anything that is not related to work and work success.  Alpha females are very clear that this is not so.  We do not have to become workaholics and lose ourselves in work, or in any other addiction for that matter.  Alpha females understand that without a true dedication to our own best interests and  growth, we have very little to offer to others.

We know that we have a great need for love, intimacy, friendship, balance, quiet.  We know that if we do not take care of that great need, we cannot take care of any other need.

We have given up the idea of  “giving our all”.  We have grown beyond the idea of “ bringing home the bacon, and frying it up in the pan, and never letting you forget you’re a man." This kind of imbalance results in a battery that needs a major charge!!

     ·     Productivity without excessive addiction

We could only have fun after the work was done, and the work was never done.  We could only relax and take care of our personal needs when the chores were completed and the house had been straightened up.  And when that  was done, we were much too tired to do anything else.  Work was always tied to the necessities of life, getting ahead, and the American dream, and these ideals justified anything, even cruel and inhuman behavior in the family.   Anne Wilson Schaef

 ·       Productivity the Alpha Female Way.

o       We can achieve success in the Alpha Female Way, balanced and powerful.

o       Or we can get confused and do it in the Alpha Male way, even putting our work before everything else in our life, dressing like men, speaking roughly in a circle of men, playing the men's game. Alpha Males need Alpha Females to help them learn balance.

·         Productivity with Self-Acknowledgment

o       acknowledge our accomplishments,

o       celebrate the miracles we have wrought .

o       focus more on what has been completed, rather than what remains on the ‘to do’ list .

·         Excellence: we can only achieve Excellence when we know what we
value in life and structure our goals around these values.
